Stainless Steel Water Bottles

So a growing trend I've been seeing lately is the steel/aluminum water bottle. I've heard through the grape vine that drinking from plastic water bottles,  could be detrimental to your health. I've heard the water becomes polluted with the chemicals the plastic bottles has been treated with or something along those lines. Seems very plausible so I've hopped on the band wagon and bought the snazzy little number pictured above from Old Navy. I've been using it this morning and love it especially the grass design. What do you think?

Dress Up

Don't you just love these dresses from Old Navy? I've been in a rare dress wearing mood lately and I would love to wear these to work. I can see all three with a bright summery bag, some sassy jewelry, and/or a cute cardigan.  I think you could go casual or fancy in them depends on the accessories and of course the shoes. Best of all they won't break the bank!

Vroom Vroom

If coffee itself doesn't give you the boost you need to start your day maybe drinking your coffee from one these cute Vespa mugs would. I was out last night at my local Barnes & Noble, which has a Starbucks inside, when happened upon one of these little fellas on display by the register. I'm in love with it! My mom used to love to collect mugs. As kids my brother, sister, and I always loved to help her whenever there was a gift giving holiday or if a unique mug like this came along.  I know my mom would totally love this mug, and I must say I'd like one myself.

I couldn't find the mugs on Barnes & Noble or Starbucks' websites but I did find them here

My Book

Hey there! Well I had a very fun evening. My good friend Megan and I had a grand old time hanging out. We ordered pizza, made pomegranate green tea, listened to 90's music (we were blasting some Celine Dion) and we made books! Megan has been diligently make books for an art exhibit benefiting the family of a close friend that passed away; I on the other hand just made a journal for fun (pictured above). It was really nice to catch up goof around with her it was also a plus to have someone to bounce book ideas off of. I have a whole slue of paper that I marbled in college; I used one piece for the front and back covers. I also had these gorgeous green ecological cards that I used for the pages of the book. They look great and since they were pre-folded and the perfect size, they cut the time it usually takes me to make a book in half. I really like exposed bindings so I used a coptic stitch to bind my journal. The overall product is a little wild compared to my usual artistic tendencies, but I'm in love with it. What do you think?

Books For Your Nooks

Hello there! Sorry it's been a few days the holiday made my weekend a little busy. Speaking of which, happy belated Easter; I hope everyone had a great one! I was browsing Etsy this afternoon for inspiration when I came across these gorgeous handmade books. You see today after work I'll be heading over to my good friend Megan's apartment for some book-making.  She has a tinge of spring fever and a very strong urge to create books. Now both of us were visual arts majors at the same college and took a great bookmaking class, but it's not very hard to do, especially for a seasoned artist/crafter. I can't wait to see what we cook up and when I get the chance I'll post pictures.

Glass with Class

Every now and again my friends and I get together for a fun night of themed drinking. In the summer we'll have "Margarita Mondays", or "Tini Tuesdays"...etc.  Last night we got together for "Wine Wednesday". We all enjoyed some cheese, fruit, chocolate and of course delicious wine. My friend Christine, our hostess for the evening, got the girls special Lolita wine glasses. They are these lovely and humorous hand painted glasses that have become very popular around my area. They sell them at Hallmark stores and a stand in the local mall and are very collectible. Lolita makes a variety of glassware ranging from martini to shot glasses. They even make mini ornament glasses for your Christmas tree.   They make a glass for just about anyone's personality, hobby, or special occasion.  Best of all, they are all cleverly named and come with their own special drink mixing instructions painted on each glass's base.  Out of my girl friends I've been known as the one with a bit of a dirty mind and potty mouth so I was given the "Dirty Wine Glass", shown above. They also make  a "Dirty Martini" glass; I have the Christmas ornament version of that. I think these are really great gifts, and conversation pieces. I think a collection of them would look very cool in a china cabinet.
