DIY Tuesday: Having a "Ball" With Centerpieces...

Hello Hello! I've been busy, busy, busy, crafting again. But this time I've created lovely lil centerpieces. My good friend Rachael is getting married in Oct. I'm her maid of honor, and therefore in charge of her bridal shower. I've been researching weddings, and all sorts of DIY projects for the occasions, as well as just for me. A common theme I've found and fallen in love with is canning jars. They are everywhere nowadays especially in wedding decor. So I decided to whip up my own take on them, with lots of inspiration from the thousands of different ways to decorate with canning jars, that I've come across.

Here's the standard Ball canning jars that I used.

Since Rachael's wedding colors are blue and yellow I spray painted the jars "ford" blue. Then, I picked up some artificial yellow flowers. White flowers are in there for a neutral filler.

Lastly I found some light blue ribbon in with my crafting goodies and Presto! I give you centerpieces. I hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed making these!

I've Got Beach on the Brain.

In two weeks I'm going to sunny Virginia Beach, Virginia. In three weeks, for Labor Day weekend, I'm going to Wildwood, New Jersey. I can't wait! It's going to be the best end to this semi-stressful summer. I'm gonna miss Summer but I love fall.

Paper Birds

While surfing around Pinterest during my lunch break I stumbled across this lovely little bird cut out from a map. I was bored and I've been in a very crafty mood lately so, I made a few of my own. Using my Adobe Illustrator skills, I made a few birds with some of the default patterns in Illustrator. I cut them all out and now my stuffy cubicle is a bit more cheerful.

DIY Tuesday: Button Necklace

Hello again! Last night I went crafty crazy and made my self a mismatched button necklace. I'm a member of the website Pinterest.com, Which is chalk full of great ideas for EVERYTHING. I saw a similar necklace someone posted under the category D.I.Y. I thought to myself I have buttons laying around the house I'm going to make that! Well I was mistaken about having a lot of buttons to use, but it's amazing how many buttons you can find in random drawers all over the house. My quest for buttons took longer than it did to make the necklace, but patience is definitely required for this craft project. I attempted to used elastic cord that I had, but that started getting frustrating, so I just used ordinary gray thread. I'm very happy with the outcome and have received a bunch of compliments on it today! I hope this inspires some jewelry making!
