DIY Tuesday: Button Necklace

Hello again! Last night I went crafty crazy and made my self a mismatched button necklace. I'm a member of the website Pinterest.com, Which is chalk full of great ideas for EVERYTHING. I saw a similar necklace someone posted under the category D.I.Y. I thought to myself I have buttons laying around the house I'm going to make that! Well I was mistaken about having a lot of buttons to use, but it's amazing how many buttons you can find in random drawers all over the house. My quest for buttons took longer than it did to make the necklace, but patience is definitely required for this craft project. I attempted to used elastic cord that I had, but that started getting frustrating, so I just used ordinary gray thread. I'm very happy with the outcome and have received a bunch of compliments on it today! I hope this inspires some jewelry making!

The Color Me Happy Package Exchange.

Guess what I got in the mail earlier this month! My gift exchange package! I recently participated in the "Color Me Happy" package exchange sponsored by Cole of the lovely blog Adventures in Love and Happiness. The exchange was based on favorite colors. Everyone participating gets paired with a partner, then you exchange favorite colors and three gift items based on those colors. I sent the gracious Ms. Elizabeth Shelby some items in teal, her favorite color. Elizabeth sent me some lovely things in my favorite color green.

I got some lovely eye shadow and nail polish, a gorgeous necklace, (I've worn several times already) a picture frame, and an adorable lil card.

I really loved the card. I work with stationary for a living so I guess that was only natural of me. I also really enjoyed her sweet little note wishing me a "Green Summer".

Hearts Happen

There is this awesome website called Hearts Happen, where photographer Kristin Hooks finds random hearts in nature and photographs them. I love it. I'm going to be looking for hearts now.

Everything is Disappointing

I've been going through a lot lately. I just want to go away on vacation, it's very stale around here.

Greeting Life Inc.

This year I was able to attend the National Stationary Show in NYC. It was really exciting seeing some familiar art that I’ve seen with my blogs or on Etsy. I saw lots of neat stuff, unfortunately it was like a sensory overload, so I can’t remember everything. I did however snag a few business cards and free samples form some of the booths I really liked. One freebie I received was an adorable Die-cut panda calendar from a Company called Greeting Life Inc.
It's a really fun addition to my desk. It turns out they are a Japanese company but I found their american site where you can purchase this and a ton of other adorable Stationary products! Enjoy!
