Blogtember: Where I Come From

I'm very glad that Jenni, from the blog Story of My Life is doing another Blog-A-Day Challenge for the month of September. This challenge is called Blogtember. I've been a little M.I.A. on here lately but hopefully this will motivate me to dive back into blogging.

The Topic of Today is:

Tuesday, Sept. 3: Describe where or what you come from. The people, the places, and/or the factors that make up who you are.

A lot of Factors contribute to who I am, one of the most common is my hometown, the small town, of Avoca. I currently live in Avoca, Pennsylvania. My Maternal Great Grandparents came to live in Avoca a long time ago. My grandparents started their family there too. My mother, aunt, and uncle spent most of their early lives growing up in Avoca. When my parents got married they lived in the apartment above my great-grandmother. My brother and I were babies and toddlers there. With the birth of my sister the apartment became a little too crowded so my family moved into our very own house in West Avoca. From Pre-K to 8th grade I went to the catholic school St. Mary's in Avoca. My family also belongs to St. Mary's Church in Avoca. My mom was employed by the church and school up until recently. I alter-served and eventually had my first job, a small clerical job, with the church. Most of my childhood friends lived in Avoca, and the first two relationships I had were with boys who lived in Avoca. I went away to college, and lived in Pittston for a few years but I am currently back in Avoca with my family. When I think of Avoca I think of home. I think of taking walks with my parents,  riding bikes with my little sister, I think of my great grandparents. I also think of watching my brother play little league, I think of my childhood friends, I think of religion, I think of the trains that are always going through the town. Avoca was home to some of my favorite playgrounds, pizza, church picnics and people. A lot has changed around town but my memories and what the town has given me will not.
