I was in a wedding!

Hello! Happy Holidays It's been quite a long while since I've blogged but Life's gotten the best of me and blogging has been low on my priority list as of late. Herea photo from the wedding I was preparing for the last time we spoke!

Me, Oh you know just tearing up the dancefloor

We all had an amazing evening. The whole experience from planning to party, was one of the best times I've had. I'm truly honored to have been a part of two of my best friends' magical day.

Bridal Shower Fun!

Hello Again! Sorry for the short sabbatical, I've been Jet-setting to beaches and I even had a short trip to Canada. Last weekend was also my good friend's bridal shower. If you can't tell I've been a busy beaver here are some pictures of the shower decorations I've been working on to prove it!

That last photo is from left to right is Me the Maid of Honor, The Bride Rachael, and Morgan a fellow bridesmaid. The real fun will be had tomorrow at the Bachelorette Party!

DIY Tuesday: Having a "Ball" With Centerpieces...

Hello Hello! I've been busy, busy, busy, crafting again. But this time I've created lovely lil centerpieces. My good friend Rachael is getting married in Oct. I'm her maid of honor, and therefore in charge of her bridal shower. I've been researching weddings, and all sorts of DIY projects for the occasions, as well as just for me. A common theme I've found and fallen in love with is canning jars. They are everywhere nowadays especially in wedding decor. So I decided to whip up my own take on them, with lots of inspiration from the thousands of different ways to decorate with canning jars, that I've come across.

Here's the standard Ball canning jars that I used.

Since Rachael's wedding colors are blue and yellow I spray painted the jars "ford" blue. Then, I picked up some artificial yellow flowers. White flowers are in there for a neutral filler.

Lastly I found some light blue ribbon in with my crafting goodies and Presto! I give you centerpieces. I hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed making these!

I've Got Beach on the Brain.

In two weeks I'm going to sunny Virginia Beach, Virginia. In three weeks, for Labor Day weekend, I'm going to Wildwood, New Jersey. I can't wait! It's going to be the best end to this semi-stressful summer. I'm gonna miss Summer but I love fall.

Paper Birds

While surfing around Pinterest during my lunch break I stumbled across this lovely little bird cut out from a map. I was bored and I've been in a very crafty mood lately so, I made a few of my own. Using my Adobe Illustrator skills, I made a few birds with some of the default patterns in Illustrator. I cut them all out and now my stuffy cubicle is a bit more cheerful.

DIY Tuesday: Button Necklace

Hello again! Last night I went crafty crazy and made my self a mismatched button necklace. I'm a member of the website Pinterest.com, Which is chalk full of great ideas for EVERYTHING. I saw a similar necklace someone posted under the category D.I.Y. I thought to myself I have buttons laying around the house I'm going to make that! Well I was mistaken about having a lot of buttons to use, but it's amazing how many buttons you can find in random drawers all over the house. My quest for buttons took longer than it did to make the necklace, but patience is definitely required for this craft project. I attempted to used elastic cord that I had, but that started getting frustrating, so I just used ordinary gray thread. I'm very happy with the outcome and have received a bunch of compliments on it today! I hope this inspires some jewelry making!

The Color Me Happy Package Exchange.

Guess what I got in the mail earlier this month! My gift exchange package! I recently participated in the "Color Me Happy" package exchange sponsored by Cole of the lovely blog Adventures in Love and Happiness. The exchange was based on favorite colors. Everyone participating gets paired with a partner, then you exchange favorite colors and three gift items based on those colors. I sent the gracious Ms. Elizabeth Shelby some items in teal, her favorite color. Elizabeth sent me some lovely things in my favorite color green.

I got some lovely eye shadow and nail polish, a gorgeous necklace, (I've worn several times already) a picture frame, and an adorable lil card.

I really loved the card. I work with stationary for a living so I guess that was only natural of me. I also really enjoyed her sweet little note wishing me a "Green Summer".

Hearts Happen

There is this awesome website called Hearts Happen, where photographer Kristin Hooks finds random hearts in nature and photographs them. I love it. I'm going to be looking for hearts now.

Greeting Life Inc.

This year I was able to attend the National Stationary Show in NYC. It was really exciting seeing some familiar art that I’ve seen with my blogs or on Etsy. I saw lots of neat stuff, unfortunately it was like a sensory overload, so I can’t remember everything. I did however snag a few business cards and free samples form some of the booths I really liked. One freebie I received was an adorable Die-cut panda calendar from a Company called Greeting Life Inc.
It's a really fun addition to my desk. It turns out they are a Japanese company but I found their american site where you can purchase this and a ton of other adorable Stationary products! Enjoy!

It's Birthday Month!

So since I was born in April it’s Birthday Month! In honor of this, I’ll be posting my birthday wish list all month until the big day…April 28th. Let the count down begin!

First up I want/need new converse sneakers! I would like a pair of original black high tops, (I’ve had my current pair since 9th grade) but I’d love to spice it up with these red low tops. Now don’t go rushing out and buy me these though ;), my lovely mother is probably gonna buy me a pair; I dunno which, so don’t worry about it. But I love converse they are the best looking shoes on the planet.

A New Year A New Start

Hey all, it's been awhile hasn't it? Well I'd like a do over with this blog if that is alright with you. I'm gonna start updating this old thing and posting a lot more. I'd call it a New Year's resolution, but we all know how those go so I'd rather not jinx myself.  I hope everyone has had a good 2010, and is enjoying their fresh start. There's more to come talk to you soon.
